What is international fight league?

The International Fight League (IFL) was a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) organization that operated from 2006 to 2008. It was based in New York City and featured a team format, with teams representing different cities around the United States.

The IFL's inaugural season began in 2006 and featured teams from New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, San Jose, and Quad Cities. Each team consisted of fighters in multiple weight classes, and they would compete against one another in a dual-meet format.

The IFL had several high-profile fighters on its roster, including UFC veterans Matt Lindland, Ben Rothwell, and Andrei Arlovski. It also had notable coaches like MMA legend Bas Rutten and former UFC champion Pat Miletich.

Despite its initial popularity, the IFL encountered financial difficulties and was forced to cease operations in 2008. Many of its fighters and coaches went on to compete in other MMA organizations like the UFC, Bellator, and Strikeforce.
